Carbon dioxide (CO2) in its solid form is commonly known as dry ice. Dry ice blasting is the use of dry ice pellets accelerated by a pressurized air stream to strip or clean unwanted contamination from buildings, equipment and machinery. It is safe, environmentally friendly and has no secondary waste stream.
Tree's and plants use carbon dioxide in the photosynthesis process. They absorb the carbon dioxide and release oxygen. People and animals use the oxygen from the air and release carbon dioxide.Carbon dioxide is made by decaying vegetation, animals and other living matter. When dry ice pellets impact the surface during the cleaning process, they expand instantly to a gaseous state about 800 times greater than their original solid volume.
